Uplifting the mana of our anga/shells in Aotearoa, this shell lei - Kai, is made from tuatua, gathered from Tokerau beach in Te Taitokerau.  Tuatua are delicious and the shells beautiful, they remind us of our connection to the moana and the importance of our role as kaitiaki/caretakers    

Neke Moa’s practice seeks to promote hauora by deepening links between tangata, tohunga, and atua. using materials gifted by te taiao, and drawing on customary and contemporary processes, she works to make mātauranga and pūrākau newly accessible. Moa is one of Aotearoa’s most highly accomplished adornment artists.
